Andrew scandal shockwave prompts key Commonwealth member to back UK efforts
Andrew's arrest fallout is expanding beyond the borders of Britain as a member of the Commonwealth Realm takes notice
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's arrest over alleged public office misuse and his links with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. has sparked pace in Britain's efforts to remove him from succession of line.
Currently, the former prince is at number eight in line to sit on the British throne. To remove him, it is necessary for all members of the Commonwealth Realm to back the decision – Australia, a key partner, just took the first step.
In a letter by the country's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to his counterpart Sir Keir Starmer, he states, "In light of recent events concerning Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, I am writing to confirm that my government would agree to any proposal to remove him from the line of royal succession."
"I agree with His Majesty that the law must now take its full course and there must be a full, fair and proper investigation. These are grave allegations, and Australians take them seriously."
