MCI using latest technology in development projects: Mayor

Islamabad :Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is using the latest technology in execution of the ongoing development projects in Islamabad to complete these projects within the stipulated time and these development projects will match the present era standards.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views while inspecting dualisation of road from Service Road (West) roundabout Sector G-10 to Khayaban-e-Iqbal. Director General (Works) and officers of concerned formations were also present.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz while directing the concerned formations for completion of the dualisation of the road before 5th of next month and urged the concerned formation to formulate effective strategy for timely completion of the ongoing development projects in the Capital City, adding that unnecessary delay in completion of development projects have not only increased the estimated cost but also earned bad image in the past.
He maintained that delaying tactics in the completion of development projects would not be tolerated and if such delaying tactics are used, stern action would be taken against the responsible officers.
Sheikh Anser Aziz was apprised that dualisation work on this road was started in April 2016 and it would cost Rs.23 million. Project Director assured that the development work would be completed within the stipulated time of 5th December. He further apprised the Mayor of Islamabad that 90 percent of development work on the project has been completed.
He expressed his dissatisfaction over the landscaping work on median strip by the Environment Wing and directed the Director Environment to complete the landscaping work and plant sapling along with the development work and remove the shrubs and wild grass from the both sides of the road. He also directed the concerned formation for installation of electric poles and street lights.
He directed the Project Director to personally supervise the development work and submit the progress report so that this project could be completed within the stipulated time. Mayor of Islamabad and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz also inspected the remaining work on the link road between Sector E-11 and Sector D-12.
