LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammed Sarwar has said the local government system is the true base of democracy and it is really regrettable that our political parties are reluctant to set up this system.
Talking to a delegation of journalists which called on Governor Punjab at Governor’s House on Thursday, Chaudhry Sarwar also stated that no one had the right to hurt the sentiments of 1.5 billion Muslims around the globe in the name of freedom of expression.
Chaudhry Mohammed Sarwar also said that beyond any doubt, love with Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the basis of every Muslim’s faith and no one had the right to hurt their sentiments. Sarwar also said that Peshawar tragedy had jolted the entire nation but at the same time we were committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism from the country. He said the media had always played a significant role in national progress and it would also continue to make its contribution and protecting the country from enemies while using the power of pen.
