Five alleged bandits arrested

LAKKI MARWAT: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested five alleged bandits including the kingpin of a notorious gang in Lakki city.

“District Police Officer Syed Khalid Hamdani had received credible information that a gang of bandits known as ‘Janbaz group’ involved in robbery incidents and wanted by Bannu police has entered the district with an intention to commit crimes,” said an official.

“A police party barricaded the road in Shaheed Abid Ali Chowk at Sheen Bagh point and started searching vehicles,” he maintained, saying that the cops stopped a suspected motorcar coming from Bannu side and asked the men onboard to prove their identity.

He said the police with the help of criminal record verification learnt that they (men onboard) belonged to a notorious gang of bandits. The official added that police arrested the men including ringleader Janbaz, Sahib Zareen, Shah Zeb, Shaista and Shaukat. The official said that police registered a case against the arrested men and began investigation.
