Police promoting friendly relations with community

The Islamabad Police is endeavouring to promote friendly police ecology and arranging various sports programmes as well as extra-curriculum activities for students to inculcate better police image in their minds.
It was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin while speaking at the concluding ceremony of Police Summer School here on Monday.
Islamabad Police held a 30-day summer camp for the children of 4 to 14 years of age at Police Lines Headquarters in H-11, Islamabad. The children of these ages were given admission in basic computer learning, swimming, horse riding, martial art and other courses.
IGP Islamabad Tariq Masood Yasin attended the ceremony as chief guest, while AIG General Nisar Ahmad Tanoli, SSP Security Mir Vais Niaz, SSP Headquarters Muhammad Bin Ashraf, SP Headquarters Sumaira Azam and other police officials were also present on the occasion.
Tariq Masood Yasin said that children today are our next generation and good image of the police department in their minds is very much crucial for positive change.
The friendly attitude of Islamabad Police is reflected through the attitude during training in this Summer School, he said and urged the parents to encourage their children for participation in various games as per their aptitude. He said little guidance can make them good sportsmen and advised the children to obey their parents for success in life.
The IGP further said the aim of holding such camp in police vicinity is to bridge the police – public gap and ICT Police is striving to strengthen the police community relations and also to acquaint the children with the police working in different segments of the police.
For better services to people, the IGP said that Police Communication System is been introduced which would have uniform system for redressal of complaints from police station to Central Police Office.
He said such Summer School Camp would remain continue in the coming years due to very positive response. He said that the SSP Headquarters has endeavoured a lot for the success of this programme.
Parents of children lauded this gesture of Islamabad Police of organising such events. Islamabad Police is role model for other law enforcement agencies and those children participating in this summer camp would remember it for their whole life. This gesture of Islamabad Police would hopefully leave a very much positive impact on the children who would remember this friendly attitude for whole life in future, he maintained.
