Pakistan players rise in T20I rankings
LAHORE: Pakistan’s dominant 3-0 series win over Bangladesh has propelled several of its players up the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, with Mohammad Haris leading the charge.
Pakistan made headlines with a 3-0 whitewash of Bangladesh at home. Leading the charge was Player of the Series Mohammad Haris, who soared a massive 210 places to No.30 in the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings after a blistering century in the final match.
He smashed a fiery unbeaten 107 off just 46 balls in the third T20I, backing up his earlier knocks of 41 and 31 to finish as the series’ top run-scorer with 167 runs at a strike rate of 201.12.
Haris, who played a standout role with the bat, has surged 210 places to a career-best 30th position in the rankings after scoring 179 runs in the series. His explosive unbeaten 107 in the third ODI in Lahore, laced with eight fours and seven sixes, earned him the Player of the Series title.
Hasan Nawaz also made substantial strides, climbing 57 places to joint-45th following his 121-run tally, while Saim Ayub advanced four places to secure the 61st spot. In the bowling department, Abbas Afridi’s 18-place jump sees him at joint-19th, while leg-spinners Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed progressed 24 and 45 places, respectively, to share the 59th position.
Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan emerged as his team’s top scorer with 106 runs, improving his ranking by 28 places to 53rd. Jakar Ali also made marginal progress, moving from 71st to 68th.
Meanwhile, England’s commanding series win over the West Indies in ODIs has led to ranking gains for Joe Root, Ben Ducket, and Harry Brook, while bowlers Adil Rashid and Saqib Mahmood also climbed significantly. West Indies batter Keacy Carty reached a career-best 12th position after his impressive run in the series, and Alzarri Joseph’s nine-place jump has placed him 18th among bowlers.
