City sizzles at 43°C; heat wave to prevail
LAHORE:Very hot weather continued to prevail in the City as mercury rose to 43°C here on Thursday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
Met officials warned that dust-thunderstorm, hailstorm, heavy falls and lightning may damage loose structures like (electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels etc) from Friday (today) to Saturday (tomorrow).
They said a westerly wave was affecting upper parts of the country. They predicted that mainly hot and dry weather was expected in most parts of the country while very hot in plain areas. However, partly cloudy weather with dust-storm, thundershower was likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Pothohar region, Northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy falls and hailstorm are also expected at few places in Kashmir, Potohar region and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the period. Rainfall was recorded at several cities, including Pattan, Kalam, Garhi Dupatta, Muzaffarabad, Bagrote, Gilgit and Bunji.
