RAWALPINDI: It’s all down to play-off positions now as Islamabad United take on Karachi Kings in the last of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X matches here today (Monday) at Pindi Stadium.

Following the qualification of top four teams into the play-offs, it is time to finalise as to which team will join Quetta Gladiators in the top two positions. The match between United and Kings will determine that as both the teams are already into the play-offs but not sure about their ultimate status.

The top finishers, following the group matches, will be in a much more comfortable position as they will get at least two chances of staying in the hunt for the PSL X title. The win by either side will enhance its chances of finishing among the top two teams on the points table following the pool engagements. United will be looking forward to a bigger win to make up for the run-rate as currently they are behind Kings in that perspective.

United will be missing some key players including Colin Munro and Jason Holder. Their services dearly as the duo had been the mainstay of their performance especially during the first phase of the PSL X. Though United have drafted in Jimmy Nessham, Tymal Mills, Alex Hales and Rassie van der Dussen, Munro and Holder services will be missed.

Kings were already seen in top gear against Peshawar Zalmi the other day with the likes of David Warner and James Vince displaying the highest quality of stroke-making. With the depth and quality Kings have at their disposal, they go into the last match as clear favourites.
