Scooter Braun, a Jewish-American executive, is credited for discovering Justin Bieber through YouTube videos.

The pair ended their professional relationship in 2023 as the Canadian singer sought more independence.

Swift's former label, Big Machine Records , was sold to Braun's company Ithaca Holdings for around $300 million.

This included the master recordings for her first six studio albums. Swift had long wanted to buy back her masters but felt blocked.

Swift publicly called the deal her "worst case scenario" and accused Braun of "incessant, manipulative bullying."
