Following criticism over her emotional tribute performance to Robert Redford at this year's Academy Awards, insiders claim that the legendary singer and actress deeply shaken.
The Oscars backlash has affected Streisand to an extent that she may not attend the Cannes Film Festival, where she is reportedly set to receive an Honorary Palme d'Or.
A source told Radar Online, "Right now, nobody knows if she'll go."
And even if she does, the source said, "Don't expect her to sing again. The response to her Oscars performance shook her – deeply."
Furthermore, the source claims that Barbra Streisand has withdrawn from the spotlight in the wake of reaction. They said, "When Barbra feels hurt, she disappears."
"She retreats, regroups, and shuts the world out," the insider added.
This comes as Streisand paid "moving" tribute to Robert Redford during 2026 Oscars In Memoriam, where she sang The Way We Were.
The singer's performance marked her first at the Oscars since 2013. however, she received criticism regarding her vocal performance.
