'The Traitors' renewed for three seasons in major move by Peacock
'The Traitors' has been one of Peacock's biggest hits
For Peacock, The Traitors has become such a major hit that the streamer has renewed the reality show for three seasons.
According to Variety, this will take the show through its eighth season.
The renewal comes after The Traitors scooped up seven wins at this year's Emmy Awards, including outstanding reality competition program and outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program for Alan Cumming.
What is impressive is that The Traitors' wins were their third in three consecutive years for those categories.
Season four is also the biggest yet for the reality show. Data also supported this.
According to Neilson, the latest season's viewership jumped 72% from the previous season.
The logline of the series reads, “In the series, players are whisked away to a castle deep in the Scottish Highlands, where they must complete tasks and challenges to build up the prize fund."
"But hidden among them are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the Faithful from the game and claim the money for themselves."
"The Traitors “murder” the Faithful as the game goes on, with the Faithful attempting to unmask the Traitors before it's too late," the synopsis read.
