Prince William is praised for ‘breaking through major taboo’
Prince William is lauded for her ability to speak up over mental wellbeing
Prince William is praised for being vocal about one aspect of public life.
The Prince of Wales, who often keeps his opinions to himself about various subjects, is at the front and centre of discussion about mental health.
Writing for the Express, royal expert Emily Ferguson noted: "The Prince of Wales is using his position to empower people, to reach people and say it's okay to feel down and signpost them to support."
She continued: "He's able to break through the taboo and all of the negativity surrounding mental health and suicide, making people listen in a way that they've never really listened before."
"All it takes is for one person to speak out, as once the first domino has fallen, other people are more likely to follow suit—and that's how stigma is dismantled," the royal expert noted.
In a surprise message, William personally addressed how important it is to take the first step in any relationship.
The latest post seemed to be a guide for people struggling to reach out to their loved ones or feel lost in how to help anyone with thoughts they cannot quite process.
“Every day in the UK, around 20 people die by suicide,” William wrote. “Behind every number is a person, a family and people who love them. If you’re worried about someone, reach out.”
The Prince of Wales insisted, “Ask how they’re really doing. Listen. Let them know they’re not alone. One conversation can change everything.”
