John Cena reveals reaction to Drake’s ‘Quebec’ shoutout
John Cena shares the reaction about 'Quebec' lyric on 'The Morning Show'
When Drake released his track, Quebec, he referenced John Cena in the lyrics: "Chrome belt, look like John Cena in here," Drizzy rapped.
And the WWE legend noticed it.
In an interview with Global News' The Morning Show, Cena said he was honoured by the unexpected name-drop from one of hip-hop's biggest names.
“To have somebody like that use me as a piece of language in their profession, it’s like you never know who you’re going to reach. I’m super grateful for Drake,” the wrestler-turned-actor said.
Drizzy's reference to Cena was a nod to the latter's iconic era in WWE and his championship belt.
That aside, Drake has again not submitted his songs and albums for 2027 Grammy consideration.
The One Dance hitmaker's critical views on the Grammys were well known.
"All you incredible artists, remember this show isn't the facts; it's just the opinion of a group of people (whose) names are kept a secret (literally you can Google it)," the Grammy winner previously wrote in a scathing Instagram post about the award show.
"Congrats to anybody winning anything for hip-hop, but this show doesn't dictate (expletive) in our world."
Then came the viral incident at the 2019 Grammy ceremony, when Drake's microphone was shut off after he criticised the show during his Best Rap Song win for "God's Plan," saying, "We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport."
