LAHORE: The Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) on Tuesday hosted a delegation from the Daroghawala Industry Owner Association, led by the Bani Group, at its secretariat.
The visit was part of a broader initiative to explore collaborative opportunities in the rapidly evolving auto parts manufacturing sector, and to foster dialogue on strengthening bilateral trade and technology exchange. The delegation, comprising key business leaders and manufacturers from Lahore’s established Daroghawala industrial hub, engaged in in-depth discussions with PCJCCI leadership to identify specific areas for partnership, investment and knowledge-sharing with Chinese enterprises.
Chairperson of the Bani Group Mian Muhammad Mansha and a veteran of the local manufacturing industry, highlighted both the challenges and potential of the sector. “Pakistan’s auto parts industry has made significant strides, but to reach the next level, we need access to cutting-edge technology, modern manufacturing practices, and global supply chains,” he said. “China is a proven leader in industrial advancement, and we believe there is tremendous value in aligning our efforts. This visit is the first step in building bridges for mutual prosperity.”
Vice President of PCJCCI Zafar Iqbal voiced strong support for industrial collaboration and reaffirmed the chamber’s commitment to connecting Pakistani manufacturers with suitable Chinese partners.
“The PCJCCI exists to create value -- for Pakistani businesses seeking growth and for Chinese investors looking for reliable partners,” he said. “The visit by the Bani Group and Daroghawala Association is more than a courtesy call; it reflects a growing recognition that collaboration is the only way forward. We will mobilise every available resource to help these companies expand regionally and internationally.”
Commercial Ambassador at PCJCCI Mahmood Arabi also played a key role in the discussions, assuring the delegation of full facilitation in networking with Chinese chambers, industrial clusters and government bodies. He stressed the need for collaboration in areas such as technology transfer, localisation of Chinese manufacturing processes, skill development of local technicians through Chinese expertise, joint ventures in auto parts assembly and distribution, export of Pakistani products to China, and participation in upcoming trade fairs and B2B forums organised by the PCJCCI.
Executive Committee Member of PCJCCI Amir Ali added that long-term impact cannot be achieved through sporadic business engagements. “What we need are structured programmes that bring together people, technology, and capital across borders. That’s exactly what we are building through the PCJCCI,” he noted.
The PCJCCI also briefed the delegation on its initiatives, including industrial matchmaking platforms, Chinese language support for business communication, and assistance with navigating cross-border legal frameworks.
Both sides agreed to form a working group to follow up on specific opportunities and facilitate future visits, including a potential business delegation to China later this year. A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is also under consideration to cement long-term cooperation between the Bani Group, Daroghawala industry stakeholders, and the PCJCCI.
