Is King Charles escaping London heatwave?
The King is said to be taking a break after a packed schedule of royal engagements
King Charles is currently staying in his Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, leaving his main residence, Clarence House in London, for some days.
It is reported that the monarch has no plans of meeting his disgraced brother, Prince Andrew, who is currently residing in Marsh Farm on the estate.
But it has been said that the main reason behind Charles' getaway in Sandringham is to spend some "private time" away from royal duties. He will only stay for a few days at the residence in Norfolk.
However, soaring temperatures amid the UK heatwave could be one of the reasons behind Charles' move.
According to the weather update, May 26 will be "very hot across England and Wales today."
On Monday, the capital city broke the record with temperature rising 34.8°C at Kew Gardens making it the "hottest UK day in May on record."
On Tuesday, the temperature is expected to reach a scorching 35°C in London.
But Norfolk is only one degree behind, its less distant location from the coast might be a blessing for His Majesty.
Charles' downtime in Norfolk came after a hectic month. His Majesty made a state visit to the United States of America in late April, where he met President Donald Trump and other government officials. After his US visit, he jetted off to Bermuda, which is a British Overseas Territory.
He also toured Northern Ireland with his wife Camilla and hosted garden parties in Buckingham Palace.
After all this hectic routine, it is not surprising if the 77-year-old king wants some rest.
