LAHORE: Hadi Hussain and Musa Haroon qualified for the men’s singles final of the DHA Lahore Punjab Juniors/Seniors Tennis Championship at the DHA Sports Complex.
Hadi Haussain made it into the final after Taha Saleem was forced to retire due to injury at 4-1 in the first semifinal while Musa Haroon edged past Ashar Khan in a gripping 8-6 battle in the second semifinal. doubles semifinal saw Ahsan Javeed and Taha Saleem triumph over Haroon Zahid and Sherhan Salim with a tight 6-4 win. Mustafa continued his dominant run, storming into the boys’ under-18 final with a commanding 6-0 win over M Ayan (DHA). He also reached the boys’ under-14 final after beating Aaliyan Ali 6-1, where he will face M Ayan, who edged past M Muaz in a tense 7-6 tiebreak.
The boys’ under-12 semifinals saw Muhammad Muaz overpower M Ehsan Bari 6-0, with M Ayan defeating Mustafa Uzair Rana 6-1. The boys/girls under-10 semifinals featured Dainyal Abdullah beating M Ehsan Bari 6-2 and Mustafa Zia securing a 6-1 victory over Dainyal Afzal Malik.
In the seniors doubles category, Hadi Hussain teamed up with Ashar Khan to defeat Saleem Khan and Ch Ameer Siddiqui 8-3 while Waheed Ahmad and Kamran Qureshi outplayed Imran Tahir and Fayyaz Akram 8-1.
Rashid Malik partnered with Brig Ghazanfar to secure an 8-2 victory over Kamran Qureshi and Dr Arif in the seniors 60+ doubles quarterfinal.
