Conquerors, Invincibles win matches in National T20 Tournament
KARACHI: Conquerors and Invincibles emerged victorious in their respective matches of the National Women’s T20 Tournament held on Sunday.
At the National Bank Stadium, the match between Challengers and Invincibles ended in a tie, leading to a Super Over where Invincibles clinched a 2-run win. Batting first, Challengers scored 145 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Natalia Parvaiz was the main contributor with 31 runs. For the Invincibles, Tania Saeed, Saima Malik, and Omaima Sohail each took two wickets.
In response, Invincibles also posted 145 for 5 in 20 overs. Ayesha Zafar top-scored with 54, while skipper Muneeba Ali contributed 41, with the pair sharing a 92-run opening stand. In the final over, Erum Javed struck a six and a four to tie the game, finishing unbeaten on 30 off two sixes and two fours.
In the Super Over, Invincibles scored 12 runs for 1 wicket, while Challengers managed only 10. Ayesha Zafar was named Player of the Match. Meanwhile, at Oval Academy Ground, Conquerors defeated Strikers by 10 wickets.
Strikers were bowled out for just 67 runs in 19 overs, with Umme Hani top-scoring with 23 runs . Hamna Bilal and Aroob Shah claimed two wickets each. Conquerors chased down the target in the 10th over without losing a wicket. Saira Jabeen remained unbeaten on 42, while Hafsa Khalid scored 23 not out. Saira Jabeen was awarded Player of the Match.
