KARACHI: HBL, Pakistan’s largest bank, has partnered with Ahya Technologies, a Pakistani AI-powered climate software company, to accelerate its goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2030. The collaboration reinforces HBL’s commitment to sustainability, aligning with the Aga Khan Development Network’s (AKDN) objectives.
The partnership provides HBL access to AhyaOS, a suite of climate software products designed to streamline emissions management and reduction. The platform will enable HBL to measure, analyse, reduce and report emissions, facilitating the creation of decarbonization plans and the setting of science-based targets (SBTs).
“Embedding sustainability into the business model of financial institutions is a core economic need,” said Salaal Hasan, CEO of Ahya. “We are proud to partner with HBL, the region’s leading sustainable bank, in enabling their journey to net zero.”
“At HBL, sustainability is not just a commitment; it is a responsibility woven into the fabric of our operations,” said Maya Inayat Ismail, chairperson of the HBL Sustainability Forum. “Partnering with Ahya Technologies marks a significant step in our aim to achieve net-zero operational emissions by 2030.”
