Pakistan's cueists shine in Asian Snooker

KARACHI: The ACBS Asian Men’s Snooker Championship 2025 begins in Doha, with Pakistan’s top cueists Shahid Aftab, Muhammad Asif, and Muhammad Sajjad dominating their respective matches.

On day one of the competition, Pakistan’s recent National Snooker Champion Shahid Aftab played brilliantly to defeat Bangladesh’s Shuvo Biswas 4-1. The winning frame scores were: (44-72, 68-09, 60-22, 82-31, 100(61)-28).

In another match, Pakistan’s Muhammad Asif dominated his match and easily defeated Yemen’s Ahmed Jabhan 4-0. The winning frame scores were: (122(51)-2, 65(65)-3, 51-15, 54-21).

In another contest, Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad defeated Jordan’s Sharaf Al Maytah 4-1. The winning frame scores were: (54-45, 107(91)-25, 16-64, 59-57, 80-13).

The Asian Men’s Snooker Championship features 44 players divided into 11 groups. In each group, the top two players qualify for the knockout round, while the top ten players qualify directly for the pre-quarter round. The remaining 12 players will compete in the first round.
