Jordan says king accepts Trump invite to White House
AMMAN: Jordan´s King Abdullah II has accepted an invitation to visit the White House and meet US President Donald Trump later this month, the royal palace said on Sunday.
“King Abdullah II will meet with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, after His Majesty received an invitation letter from President Trump last week,” the royal palace said in a statement.
Both Amman and Cairo -- key US allies in the region -- have repeatedly rejected the proposal, alongside other countries in the region.
During meetings with European officials in Brussels on Wednesday, King Abdullah reiterated “Jordan´s unwavering opinion on the necessity of establishing Palestinians on their land and gaining their legitimate rights, in accordance with the two-state solution”.
