ANP opposes amendments to Peca Act
MARDAN: Awami National Party (ANP) President Senator Aimal Wali Khan on Friday said that his party opposed the amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (Peca) Act 2025 and stood by the journalist community.
He said that Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan known as Bacha Khan and Abdul Wali Khan endured immense sufferings for the cause of the Pakhtuns and democracy. “We have been striving to help the Pakhtuns get their due rights,” he said while addressing a gathering arranged in connection with the death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Wali Khan.
ANP provincial president Mian Iftkhar Hussain, former chief minister Ameer Haider Hoti and others also addressed the gathering.A large number of party workers participated in the public meeting. Aimal Wali Khan said that the ANP was striving to help the Pakhtuns get their due rights. He said that Bacha Khan and Wali Khan took great pains to awaken the Pakhtuns. He said the ANP leadership was facing all obstacles with bravery for the cause of the Pakhtuns.
He added that the mandate of Pakhtuns was forcibly snatched away and given to undeserving people. Aimal Wali said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial government could not build a single school and was selling the land meant for universities. He added that when the PTI came to power at the centre they sold buffaloes and vehicles and finally the Toshakhana. He added that everyone was happy when the PTI was ousted from power. He added that he entered politics to carry forward the legacy of Bacha Khan. He added that the
peace of this region was destroyed for dollars. He added that the ANP’s mandate was stolen. He said that the ballot boxes were filled with bogus votes. He added that ANP would defend the 18th Amendment.
