Govt focusing on qualitative research in medical varsities: ministers
LAHORE: Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir on Saturday inaugurated the new website and digitisation of classroom project of Mayo Hospital Department of Orthopedic Unit.
The ministers while addressing the participants of the event said, ‘First of all we are grateful to the philanthropists who created the website and digitalisation of the classroom project, Dr Asghar, Dr Irfan, Haji Fakhar ud din and others sincerely.
‘The team at Mayo Hospital Alhamdulillah is very hardworking and competent. Through information technology we can get a lot of support in the treatment of patients. Qualitative research is being given special attention in the medical universities of Punjab. Allah Almighty has given us a rare opportunity to serve patients in government hospitals.’
Khawaja Salman Rafique said, ‘We are bringing modern reforms for the betterment of the nursing sector in Punjab. The curriculum of nurses in Punjab has also been improved. The honorarium of nurses has also been increased. Better medical facilities are being provided to patients in 9 public hospitals affiliated to King Edward Medical University.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is going to inaugurate the children’s heart surgery project soon. Allah Ta’ala has blessed the field of medicine with great honor.’
Khawaja Imran said, ‘We congratulate the entire team of Mayo Hospital. According to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, we are trying our best to improve the conditions of government hospitals.’
Speaking on this occasion, Hafiz Nauman said that Punjab Chief Minister’s decision to make Khawaja Salman Rafique the Health Minister is proving to be the best. Mayo Hospital is providing excellent medical facilities to thousands of patients, he said.
Vice-Chancellor King Edward Medical University Professor Mahmood Ayaz said, ‘We are grateful to the Health Ministers and PMLN leader Hafiz Nauman for their arrival for good work.
‘Today is a memorable day for the Department of Orthopedics at Mayo Hospital. Orthopedic Department of Mayo Hospital is in the forefront for treating patients not only from Punjab but also from all over Pakistan.
Be it modern treatment or modern method, record protection is the most important requirement of all time. In view of this need, the efforts made by the Department of Orthopedic King Edward Medical University are commendable.
‘In Orthopedic Department, all diagnostic and treatment related to this field is ongoing, under which records can be saved and used through research e-log system will be of great benefit.
Department of Orthopedic website launched Digitization of classroom and records of files are all important. In all these achievements, I am grateful to the minister with whose patronage and cooperation this was possible.’
