Patient’s tragic death in Pabbi: Four hospital staff members suspended
NOSHERA: Taking notice of the death of a young patient due to the alleged negligence of the staff of Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Memorial Hospital in Pabbi, four staff members were suspended by the probe committee constituted by the secretary for Health on Monday.
Also, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Main Gandapur formed a two-member investigation committee comprising Additional Secretary Health Dr Niaz Muhammad and Dr Khalil Akhtar to fix responsibility to award exemplary punishment to the negligent staff of the hospital.
A young patient lost his life due to the alleged negligence of the staff of Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Memorial Hospital in Pabbi the other day.The Rescue 1122 ambulance had brought a patient to the health facility last night but he was not provided any treatment and the patient was later put into the hospital courtyard where he died.
The probe body comprising Dr Muhammad Salim and Dr Hilal Sardar after recording statements suspended technicians Salman and Sohail Khattak, ward orderly Ammar and Class-IV Abdullah.
They said that action would also be taken against two doctors.Director General Health Services Dr Muhammad Salim said that it was a tragic incident, which should be condemned in the strongest words. He said that the committee had launched its investigation and the erring staff would be awarded exemplary punishment.
He said that there were reports against the hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Ikhtiar Ali and an investigation would also be conducted against him to fix responsibility.There were reports of allegations and counter-allegations between the hospital staff and the officials of Rescue 1122, which led to the death of the patient.
Meanwhile, CM Gandapur also formed a probe body on the complaints of provincial Minister Mian Khaliqur Rahman, Member National Assembly Zulfiqar Khan and Member Provincial Assembly Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and took notice of media reports.The members, Dr Niaz Muhammad and Dr Khalil Akhtar, would launch investigations into the tragic incident today and present report to the chief minister.
