PlayStation Plus 12-month membership giveaway officially announced– But there’s catch
The promotion offer started on May 27 and runs until June 10
PlayStation is officially offering a free 12-month membership of PlayStation Plus as a part of Sony’s annual Days of Play 2026 event.
The recent offer has immediately grabbed the attention of gamers online as it promises to deliver various perks.
The promotion offer started on May 27 and runs until June 10 at 11:59 PM local time.
The benefits related to promotion include access to multiplayer gaming, monthly free titles and exclusive discounts usually reserved for already paid subscribers.
However, the announcement feels like a dream for PlayStation users, but there appears to be a significant catch associated with the promotion, such as conditions related to eligibility and purchasing conditions.
For instance, to qualify, the players must participate in at least one Match Days of Play event running from May 27 and June 10. After that scheduled timeline, the players will not be allowed to enter.
The participation in certain selected games will fulfil the eligibility criteria. The featured games include EA Sports Madden NFL 26, Tekken 8, Mortal Kombat 1, NBA 2K26, EA Sports UFC 5, Gran Turismo 7, Astro Bot, Asphalt 9: Legends, and Fortnite, EA Sports College Football 26.
Moreover, players can participate in special PlayStation Tournaments and activities for a chance to win a prize. The prizes involve a PlayStation Portal, 12 months of PS Plus Premium, a DualSense Edge wireless controller, and $100 USD in PlayStation Store credit.
Here it is important to mention that Sony is not providing a 12-month membership giveaway to the general public, instead it will be provided to only winners taken part in specific contests or as sweepstakes prizes.
Recently, Sony has also unveiled new PlayStation Plus monthly games for June 2024 that include Grounded: Fully Yoked Edition, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
