Ahsan Iqbal says govt’s doors open to purposeful talks
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the government’s doors were open for purposeful negotiations but the nation cannot forgive the events of May 9
ISLAMABAD: The government has made another offer of talks to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to Geo News, the government linked the offer to the condition to leave the streets and come to the House, and also asked to make a positive opposition and wait till 2029.
Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said the government’s doors were open for purposeful negotiations but the nation cannot forgive the events of May 9. “The PTI uses the shoulder of courts after getting involved in politics,” he added.
Meanwhile, Acting President Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that they were ready for political talks but the PTI has to decide with whom it wants negotiations.
Talking to the media in Lahore, Yusuf Raza Gilani said the country was suffering from instability and politicians must be on the same page. “Political unrest is creating economic instability and we need to negotiate to discuss political issues,” he added.
He said that if there are gaps in the budget, the PPP will give suggestions to the government. The budget should be people-friendly, farmer-friendly and youth-friendly, he added.
