Several journalists murdered in Sindh in last four years

Over the last four years, seven journalists have been murdered in the line of duty in Sindh.

In February 2020, journalist Aziz Memon, associated with KTN TV channel, was murdered in Mehrabpur, District Naushero Feroze, in May 2020, Zulifqar Mundrani, associated with Daily Koshish, was killed in Dodapur, a town in Jacobabad.

In March 2021 Ajay Lalwani, associated with Daily Puchano, was murdered in Salehpat, a town in District Sukkur, and after one year in 2022, Naresh Makheja, also a Journalist, Ajay Lalwani’s cousin and a major prosecution witness in his murder case, died in a road accident. The journalist community suspects that his death was not accidental but a murder.

In June 2023, Ghulam Asghar Khand, associated with Daily Sobh, was killed in District Khairpur, in August 2023 Jan Muhammad Mahar, a renowned journalist associated with KTN, was murdered in Sukkur, and in May 2024 Nasurullah Gadani, associated with Daily Awami Awaz, was murdered in broad daylight in District Ghotki.
