Massive overcharging prevails in City

LAHORE: Massive overcharging was observed in the City as the district administration was engaged in the by-elections while none of the edible was sold at official rates in anywhere in the provincial metropolis.

Provincial bureaucracy has managed to chief minister on the sensitive issue of artificial inflation due to open violations of the rate lists as only verbal orders are issued to stop overcharging. However, on ground there is no check on sellers, especially the vegetables, fruits and meat sellers. Majority of these vendors are doing their business by encroaching the government places alongside the different roads in the city. They openly overcharged the public at their will while the price magistrates and officials concerned of each tehsil in provincial capital getting their shares from this open overcharging.

This week price of chicken was further increased by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs466-484 per kg, sold at Rs650 per kg, and chicken meat by Rs33 per kg, fixed Rs699 per kg, and sold Rs800-1300 per kg.

The price of potato soft skin gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs60-65 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs50-55 per kg, and C-grade at Rs42-46 per kilogram, mixed sold at Rs80 per kg.

The price of onion A-grade declined by Rs70 per kg, fixed at Rs130–135 per kg, sold at Rs160-180 per kg, B-grade at Rs120-125 per kg, sold at Rs130-140 per kg, and C-grade fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at sold at Rs120 per kg.

The price of tomato A-grade further reduced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg, B-grade fixed at Rs95-100 per kg, and C-grade at Rs85-90 per kg, mixed sold at Rs120-140 per kg.

The price of garlic local was gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs260-270 per kg, sold at Rs350-400 per kg, and garlic China by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs625-640 per kg, sold at Rs800-1000 per kg, harlic Harnai by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs440-460 per kg, sold at Rs600-650 per kg. The price of ginger Thai reduced by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs600-620 per kg, and ginger Chinese gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs575-595 per kg, both sold at Rs800 per kg.

Cucumber farm unchanged at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs50-80 per kg. Brinjal price was gained by Rs30 per kg, fixed Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs160 per kg. Bitter gourd price gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs115-120 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg. The price spinach farm gained by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs30-33 at Rs80-100 per kg. Zucchini local was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, zucchini farm by Rs14 per kg, fixed at Rs40-44 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, and zucchini long by Rs13 per kg, fixed at Rs40-43 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

The price of lemon China gained by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs185-195 per kg, sold at Rs300 per kg, lemon by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs365-380 per kg, sold at Rs600 per kg. Pumpkin was gained by Rs65 per kg, fixed at Rs120-125 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.

Green chili price A-grade reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs85-90 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg, B-grade by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg. Capsicum price was further reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs57-60 per kg, sold at Rs150-160 per kg.

Price of cauliflower was gained by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg, cabbage reduced by Rs36 per kg, fixed at Rs40-44 per kg, sold Rs100-120 per kg. Carrot Chinese downed by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs50-53 per kg, sold at Rs160-200 per kg, carrot local unchanged at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg.

Arum was gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs182-190 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg. Ladyfinger also gained by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs270-280 per kg, sold at Rs400 per kg.

Turnip was increased by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs30-33 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Fenugreek (Methi) gained by Rs35 per kg, fixed at Rs76-80 per kg, sold at Rs150-180 per kg.

Pea price was gained by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs125-130 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.

Beetroot was sold at Rs300-320 per kg.

Coriander was sold at Rs40 per bundle.

Radish was gained by Rs7 per kg, fixed at Rs16-17 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.

Mogray price was unchanged at Rs105-110 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg.

Kachnar was unchanged at Rs210-220 per kg, sold at Rs350 per kg.

Sweet pumpkin was fixed at Rs28-30 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg.

The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs58-280 per kg, sold at Rs200-500 per kg.

The price of banana A-category reduced by Rs10 per dozen, fixed at Rs135-140 per dozen, sold at Rs180 per dozen, and B-category by Rs20 per dozen, fixed at Rs95-100 per dozen, sold at Rs150 per dozen, and C-category by Rs10 per dozen fixed at Rs70-74 per dozen, sold at Rs120-130 per dozen.

Dates Irani reduced by Rs40 per kg, fixed at Rs385-400 per kg, sold at Rs800 to 1400 per kg.

Papaya reduced by Rs50 per kg, fixed at Rs135-140 per kg, sold at Rs200-240 per kg.

Pomegranate danaydar unchanged at Rs400-420 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, pomegranate khandahri gained by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs365-380 per kg, sold at Rs800 per kg, pomegranate bedana by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs780-800 per kg, sold at Rs1600-1800 per kg.

Guava was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs60-90 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.

Musami was gained by Rs40 per dozen, fixed at Rs130-200 per dozen, not sold.

Grapefruit was fixed at Rs20-22 per piece, sold at Rs40 -60 per piece.

Sweet potato was fixed at Rs80-85 per kg, sold at Rs200 per kg.

Kinow was fixed at Rs160-265 per dozen, sold at Rs800 per dozen.

Strawberry was further reduced by Rs15 per kg, fixed at Rs50-85 per kg, sold at Rs80-120 per kg.

Melon was reduced by Rs30 per kg. fixed at Rs60-80 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg, melon round by Rs20 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs100-120 per kg.

Grapes tofi was reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs230-240 per kg, sold at Rs400–500 per kg.

Lokat reduced by Rs10 per kg, fixed at Rs140-145 per kg, fixed at Rs200-250 per kg.

Watermelon was reduced by Rs30 per kg, fixed at Rs47-50 per kg, sold at Rs80-100 per kg.
