ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said PTI founder Imran Khan has stated that the country is factually breaking up.
“There are two laws in the country and, as a result, whosoever has rights is using them as he wishes, it is like might is right. That is why Khan was saying that the country, in fact, was breaking up,” he said while talking to reporters after his meeting with Imran at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Gohar said the principles of justice were being trampled while despite violation of their rights, the IGP never apologised. Therefore, it was a request to the superior judiciary to hear their petitions and ensure protection of their rights and of their leaders like any other citizen of the country.
Referring to the meeting with the PTI founder chairman, he claimed that the meeting was held in a room where glasses were installed in the middle. “We condemn obstructions. The founder of the party said that the country seemed to be breaking apart,” he maintained.
Quoting Imran, Gohar said the party founder said the PTI did not believe in any deal or fight with any institution and that he would continue to fight for the supremacy of parliament. He said the Supreme Court of Pakistan should hear their pending petitions, as bail was necessary in three cases involving the PTI founder. If the hearing was held on a daily basis, he would be released in the month of April. Gohar said the path of dialogue should not be closed. Yesterday a session of the National Assembly was convened but only for taking oath from Aseefa Bhutto and Rs6.5 crore of the nation were wasted.
The PTI founder entrusted him and Omar Ayub with the responsibility to mobilize the party in Punjab and that they would take part in the party worker conventions in the province and other federating units. Sher Afzal Marwat has been tasked to participate in rallies in KP in connection with the upcoming by-elections. Imran has directed Marwat to file a contempt of court petition.
On this occasion, Sher Afzal Marwat said a camera was installed for audio and video recording under the cover of an additional big bulb in the meeting room with PTI founder. “Contrary to Islamabad High Court instructions, jail officials sat in the meeting even today. There was a partition of glass and such bulbs are used for spying,” he pointed out. He said their audio and video were recorded during their meeting with Imran.
