WANA: A team of engineers, supported by FC South KP and Gomal Scouts, conducted a survey in Tanai and Spin areas of Lower South Waziristan district headquarters Wana to install a hydel power plant.

The commandant Gomal Scouts revealed that the survey team had proposed three feasible sites for generating electricity, adding that the power plant would provide electricity to approximately 600 households in Tanai and Spin area.

The chairman of the Wana Union of Journalists commended the commandant of the Gomal Scouts for overseeing the initiation of the survey work on the project, which would hopefully resolve electricity-related issues in the region.

Tribal elders also acknowledged the ongoing efforts of FC Scouts and Gomal Scouts to address the energy crisis. They highlighted the severe electricity shortage in the country, leading to substantial load-shedding in both urban and rural areas.

The elders emphasised on the untapping potential for electricity generation through water resources in Pakistan, particularly in the merged districts. They suggested that with increased attention from the government, the persistent electricity issues in the districts could be effectively resolved. The elders proposed that focused government investment could lead to a huge generation of electricity.
