NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTIP) Chairman Pervez Khattak on Wednesday said that he believed in the power of masses and ruled out seat adjustment with other political parties in the forthcoming general election.
“Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl chief cannot delay elections as his demand for postponing polls has no status,” he said while speaking at a press conference here. On this occasion, local activists of various political parties also announced joining the PTIP.
Pervez Khattak said that there were clear directives of the Supreme Court with regard to the general polls, which would be held on February 8 accordingly.The PTIP chief said that the media should not spread fear and rumours about the elections and added that his party was ready for the general elections.
He claimed that a record number of development projects were completed during his tenure as the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.He also said that they had announced a unique manifesto, which would be implemented in letter and spirit.
He recounted the feats of his five-year tenure as KP chief minister. He pledged to eradicate corruption and implement a technical programme for youth.Pervez Khattak also came down hard on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Mian Nawaz Sharif and other leaders, saying they had done nothing for the welfare of people and development of the country during the last 35 years.
He said that Nawaz Sharif had not come to serve Pakistan but he wanted to quash his corruption cases one by one, holding him responsible for the huge loans over the country.He said that he had formed a new party and was now taking part in elections to expose the true face of cheaters, who used to disappear from the scene after the polls were over.
