Amir highlights Quaid’s vision of equal human rights for all
LAHORE:Punjab caretaker Minister of Information and Culture Amir Mir, in a message of peace, equality, and national unity, conveyed his wishes to the Pakistani nation on the occasion of Quaid-i-Azam Day and Christmas.
Emphasising Quaid-i-Azam's vision of a free and independent Pakistan founded on humanity's respect, the minister urged the nation to uphold these principles. Quaid-i-Azam's Pakistan embraced minorities, ensuring equal human rights for all.
Amir Mir underscored the importance of moving forward with this inclusive vision, safeguarding the lives and property of minorities. On this Christmas day, the entire Pakistani nation joins in celebrating the joy of the Christian community.
The minister noted the Punjab government's dedication to fulfilling state responsibilities in protecting the rights of the Christian community, highlighting their active role in the nation's construction and development.
Pakistan is a valuable gift from Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said and called for collective efforts to protect and ensure its stability. The minister stressed the need for mutual respect, discouraging destructive behaviours like extremism and intolerance, while urging the channeling of energies towards building a healthy society.
Felicitates LPC office-bearers
Amir Mir has felicitated the newly-elected governing body of the Lahore Press Club, affirming the Punjab government's commitment to historic measures for the welfare of journalists. The hope is that under the leadership of President Arshad Ansari and Secretary Zahid Abid, the newly-elected officials will staunchly defend journalists' rights and actively contribute to resolving longstanding issues.
Expressing grief over the demise of renowned Pakistan television, radio,and stage actor Nisar Qadri, the minister acknowledged his significant contributions to the field of acting. The provincial minister paid tribute to the late actor, stating that his services to Pakistan's drama industry would be remembered perpetually. The minister prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of the deceased and grant him a place in Jannat al-Firdous.
