Bilawal wants end to politics of bigotry, hatred

HYDERABAD/ SUKKUR/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inaugurated the annual Sheikh Ayaz Mela in Khanabandosh Writers Cafe, Hyderabad by cutting the ribbon on Thursday.

Addressing the Ayaz Mela, organised to pay homage to the late Sheikh Ayaz, a well-known poet of Sindh, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that everyone has the right to disagree in politics, but it does not mean that disagreement should be personal, be turned into hostility, the politics of bigotry, hatred, and division will have to end.

He said that PPP has already proved that it can take everyone together, some elements want people to continue to be divided, but when the people understand this, then the victory will be for the people. He said that economic challenges, extremism, and geopolitical conditions cannot be faced with the politics of hatred and division. The intellectuals and youth are needed to take the country in the right direction. When they start, no one will be able to stop them.

He said that there are threats to Pakistan due to climate change, and people need to be informed about this issue. First, we have to educate our people about this threat, and then we have to explain it to the world. First, we shall face floods, and then we will face drought.

He said in view of climate change, we have to change the development vision in the country. In this regard, we need the support of the people.

Bilawal said that Pakistan cannot run in such a way that it ignores its history and cultures. We have to put the country in the right direction. We have to embrace our history and all cultures, he added.

He said that there has been a lot of oppression in this country. Not only were great leaders killed here, but their history, culture, and languages have also been suppressed by their own hands.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the fair, the Director of Sindh University Arts and Design Institute presented the portraits of Benazir Bhutto and his to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Sheikh Mela was started by (Shah Jiyon Sormiyon) group consisting of Bhit Shah’s girls Sakina, Sabra, Pakiza, and Yasmin with the song (Wai) of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Earlier, Zahid Hussain, author of the book Face to Face containing interviews of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto and Amina Syed, publisher of the book, welcomed in the Hyderabad Press Club. While talking to journalists on this occasion, Zahid Hussain said that he spent his childhood in Hyderabad, came here after 35 years, and it feels great, he has fond memories of this city, Hyderabad was once a cultural hub.

Bilawal said, “We have introduced the concept of Youth Card and Youth Centers for the youth. Through the Youth Card, educated unemployed youth will be financially supported, while the youth centers set up at the district level will provide library, vocational training and sports facilities.”

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached in Halla to attend the marriage ceremony of PPP leader and former provincial minister Revenue Makhdoom Mahbub-ul-Zaman.

Meanwhile, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appointed Senator Taj Haider as PPP Secretary General. The post of PPP secretary general was vacant following the resignation of Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari as the PPP secretary general after he was appointed PPPP Secretary General.

Besides appointment of PPP secretary general Bilawal appointed five additional secretary general from all the four provinces as well as from South Punjab. The additional general secretaries are Syed Murad Ali Shah from Sindh, Zulfiqar Ali Badar from Punjab, Sabir Ali Baloch from Balochistan, Humayun Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Mehmood Hayat (Tochi Khan).
