Welfare body team calls on IGP
LAHORE:A delegation of a welfare organisation working for the protection of homeless children called on the IGP Punjab on Thursday.
During the meeting, the delegation discussed the establishment of Tahafuz Manzil in Lahore with the collaboration of Punjab Police and a welfare organisation. Women suffering from various social problems will be given jobs as foster mothers in the Police Tahafuz Manzil.
These volunteer foster mothers will provide orphans and homeless children with maternal love and a home environment.
Ranks pinned on promoted officials
A ceremony was held in honour of newly-promoted officers and officials of Tele Transport and Communication at the Central Police Office on Thursday.
The IGP Punjab pinned new ranks to more than 60 promoted officers and officials. According to the spokesperson of Punjab Police, some 1,569 officers and personnel of the Telecommunication Wing have been promoted this year. The promoted officials include 566 wireless operators, 36 telephone operators, nine mechanics and one daak runner.
