This refers to the letter 'WMD's threat' (November 27, 2023) by Faisal-ur-Rehman. The writer has rightly identified the potentially catastrophic consequences of the use and spread of weapons of mass destruction and has urged the world community to prevent the same.
Today, despite the passage of many nuclear non-proliferation treaties, the world still faces the risk of nuclear war.
Although achieving a nuclear-free world will be a long and difficult task, it is not impossible. The world community must play its role in reducing the size of nuclear arsenals, keeping nuclear weapons away from non-state actors, and building mutual trust among states.
