Evacuation of illegal foreigners continues

LAHORE: On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the process of evacuation of illegal foreign immigrants from all over Punjab continues without interruption, and in this regard, Punjab Police has so far conducted more than 16 hundred and 50 raids in different districts of the province. Spokesman Punjab Police said that Punjab Police has ensured the evacuation of more than 700 foreign nationals so far, verification of more than 17,000 foreigners was carried out with the support of Nadra and other govt. institutions, while around 14,000 illegal immigrants have voluntarily returned from Punjab.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed the RPOs, DPOs to speed up the process of evacuation of foreign nationals and said that the return process of all illegally staying foreign nationals should be completed as soon as possible, and in this regard, steps should be accelerated with the cooperation of Special Branch, CTD, District Administration and other intelligence agencies. IG Punjab said that during the evacuation process, the excellent arrangements should be made and respect of basic human rights should be ensured in every case.

Funds approved for cops’ treatment

IG Punjab has approved the funds of 18 lakh rupees for the treatment of 07 injured officials of various districts including Lahore. A meeting of the Compensation Award Committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional IG Welfare M Riaz Nazir Gara, in which the cases of injured police officials received from across the province were considered. IG Punjab approved the release of funds for the treatment of 07 injured officials.

According to the details, the injured Constable Wajid Ali of Gujranwala Police was given Rs. 05 lakh PKR for treatment. Shahid Imtiaz, the injured constable of Lahore Police, was given 03 lakh rupees for treatment, injured constable Ghulam Nabi of Gujranwala police was given 03 lakh 50 thousand rupees for treatment. Asir Mahmood, the injured Constable of Rawalpindi, was given two and a half lakh rupees, injured Constable M Ashraf of Sheikhupura Police was given Rs.02 lakh for treatment.
