Assures Pakistan of support in the fight against terror; Gen Raheel meets Chinese Vice Chairman of Central Military Commission; says army firm to wipe out terrorism

BEIJING: China’s Central Military Commission Vice Chairman General Fan Changlong has assured full support to Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
He held out this assurance during a meeting with Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Sunday. General Raheel Sharif is on a five-day official visit of China.According to the ISPR, General Fan described Pakistan and China as strategic partners, important neighbours and brothers.
Showing solidarity with Pakistan, Gen Fan praised the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and termed it “decisive, bold and a hard blow to terrorists.”The Chinese general also lauded the national consensus against terrorism and Pakistan’s resolve, efforts and sacrifices in fighting the menace. He assured China’s full support in the fight against terrorism.
General Raheel Sharif said with the nation’s support, the army was determined to eliminate terrorism from the country.General Raheel Sharif arrived in China on Saturday and is scheduled to meet China’s political and military leadership to discuss issues pertaining to security and defence cooperation between the two countries.
