Aaron Sorkin’s controversial and short-lived television series, The Newsroom, may have called it a day after three seasons, but a reunion of old Sorkin cast is finally underway.

Martin Sheen and Lily Tomlin from The West Wing have joined Jane Fonda and Sam Waterson of The Newsroom in a new show called Grace and Frankie. Now there’s a casting coup we can get behind.

The first season consists of 13-episodes and has been released by Netflix. Why watch the show? Because the premise is fairly fun: Martin Sheen and Sam Waterson play the gay ex-husbands of Jane and Lily respectively. The tagline of the show sums it up best:  “A pair of rivals find out their husbands want to run off with each other.”

This is old-school charm, with a great mix of comedy and drama that will move you in more ways than one.

And while we’re on the subject of Aaron Sorkin, the Academy-Award winning writer of films like The Social Network and Moneyball, has finally said goodbye to television. “I’ve loved every minute I’ve spent in television. And I’ve had much more failure, as traditionally measured, than success in television. I’ve done four shows, and only one of them was The West Wing,” Sorkin told Los Angeles Times.

Aaron Sorkin, who is the force behind the script of Jobs, a film based on the life of Steve Jobs is not thrilled with the casting of Michael Fassbender in the titular role. Michael Fassbender responded to the criticism by saying: “It’s whatever. People have opinions. The Internet is the Internet. I have a job to do, so I just get on with that.”

Patrick Dempsey surfaces for the

first time after Grey’s Anatomy split

Patrick Dempsey aka Derek Shepherd, surfaced in Los Angeles for the first time since departing from the hit medical drama, Grey’s Anatomy, where he was seen jogging and texting on his phone. Patrick departure from Grey’s Anatomy after a ten-year run has come as a surprise to not only fans but his co-stars as well.

Dempsey’s former co-star James Pickens Jr, who plays Dr. Richard Webber on the show since it first aired in 2005, revealed in an interview to ABC News that the cast barely knew that McDreamy was going off the show. “We didn’t know a whole lot. It was kind of on the fly,” Pickens told ABC News. “So whatever information we got, we pretty much got it kind of right before it happened. Obviously, ‘Grey’s’ wouldn’t have been ‘Grey’s’ without him. He was such an integral part of that. He’s a very, very talented guy,” James said. “His character has become iconic. I mean, it’s part of the lexicon of TV.”

Patrick Dempsey, 49, has two projects he’s currently working on: The Limit and Fodors. Speaking to ABC News, Patrick confessed that he would like to be a producer.

“I would like to be a producer. I would commit to a show that is 10 to 12 episodes. But 24 [episodes] again, I don’t know if I would do that. It’s a very hard life. It’s financially rewarding but there comes a point where how much is enough, really?”
