Singapore is a famous tourist destination – a city which has the most spectacular and famous attractions like the city’s symbol, the Merlion, Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Singapore Flyer among others. But this is not all! Singapore is also known for its diverse flavours from different ethnic backgrounds, which collide to create the delicious hybrid cuisine. Singaporean food has influences of the native Malays, Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, Peranakan and Western traditions. Not only this, influences from other regions such as Sri Lanka, Thailand and the Middle East are also present. A very interesting fact is that Singaporean literature declares eating a national pastime and food a national obsession.

Singapore’s makanan lazat

Well you don’t need to go there to taste the signature Singaporean dishes. The management of Avari Towers Hotel, Karachi, has brought the exciting Singaporean Food Festival for all food enthusiasts out there. The food festival that started on July 14th will be on till the 23rd July 2017. Like always the ambiance created by the hotel management makes for a perfect Singaporean setting with dimmed lights and classic Singaporean music playing in the background. At the entrance you will observe the central metro station that welcomes you inside the restaurant – Asia Live. The entire place has been decorated with flags of Singapore in different sizes along with traditional landscapes and cultural pictures around the buffet. Also, the buffet tables are adorned with sculptures of famous monuments, giving a very lively feel to the restaurant.

Now, the main highlight – food! We all are familiar with Singaporean rice. However, after tasting the genuine Singaporean rice at the fest we realised that it’s totally different from the localised version of Singaporean rice which is stuffed with spaghettis, veggies and chicken, offered in our desi ‘dawaats’ and ‘shadis’. The taste of aromatic and flavoursome Singaporean rice (without any additions) is just out of this world.

There is an extensive buffet of appetizers and salads. The main course meals include tempting dishes like Sweet & Sour Ayam (chicken), Chilli Crab, Chicken Satay with Peanut sauce, Fried Noodles, Stir Fried Squids, Assorted Dumplings with dipping sauce etc that are packed with flavour. The dessert table also offers various sweet delights that are heavenly.

If you are a foodie then indulging in a variety of cuisines is always a mouth watering experience. So, what are you waiting for go ahead and try out authentic Singaporean cuisine, as there are a few days left till the festival ends. We are sure you will absolutely love it! Bon Appetite.
