When the sun shines bright we know that it is time to take out our cool and breezy lawns. And that of course means updating our wardrobes. Surely we can’t even think of wearing chiffons and silks in such hot weather and want to go for outfits that are light and comfortable. She recently launched her luxury lawn collection in collaboration with Al Zohaib Textiles in Karachi. Not only this, the leading textile company also unveiled its spring/summer calendar for 2017. At the event many celebs including Rubya Chaudhry, Nadia Hussain, Sanam Jung, Nida Yasir, and many others were seen sporting beautiful outfits by Tabassum. This year, the designer has created some quintessentially regal designs that are perfect for the season. The best part is that Tabassum has used distinctive hues like plum, lavender, blue, peach and earthy tones that one can choose from based on their preference. Along with the textile company, the designer brings cutting edge embroideries, digital prints and innovative embellishments such as cutwork, resham embroidery, etc. The prints are available in premium quality lawn with pure silk dupattas, along with intricate embroidery and embellishments that add an oomph to the attire.

Amongst the lawn brands that have created quite a rage this season is Kapray. Having entered the market two years ago, the brand offers latest fashion trends with a meticulous focus towards quality. Even though the stores are flooded with gorgeous designs, we all just love to have a few refreshing cool prints in our closets, don’t we? This time around Mahgul has translated her artistic vision into lawn for the very first time. For those who don’t know, Mahgul Rashid debuted at the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in 2013. Since then she has come a long way.

The designer’s debut lawn collection offers 22 unique designs and an additional two designs in two distinct colour ways that is refreshing and very unique. Mahgul lawn for Al Zohaib Textiles stays true to the fashion houses’ aesthetic and embraces the essence of lawn. The S/S 2017 lawn collection is all about restrained aesthetic with a more defined sense of design and motifs. What sets this collection apart from other brands is its simplicity. The designer always tries to strike a unique chord, making sure her outfits are never cluttered or overworked.

At the launch in Lahore, designer Mahgul Rashid said, “There is a certain insouciant feel in the prints with a down to earth spirit and I hope that comes through in the designs. I have tried not to fuss too much or to reinvent what’s been done for decades but rather I have aimed to introduce a fresh perspective for S/S 2017 lawn in terms of colours, layouts and original design.”
