Pakistan’s film industry is bouncing back with a string of successful films, including ‘London Nahi Jaunga’ and ‘Quaid e Azam Zindabad’, and the record-breaking sales of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’. The year 2022 was also ground-breaking for Pakistani cinema in terms of its representation and recognition abroad. Films like Saba Qamar - starrer ‘Kamli’ and ‘Joyland’ - the critically acclaimed Pakistani Oscar entry, has brought the industry back into action and on the global map. It seems like it is only up and above from here onwards with more releases to hit the screen this year as well.
Recently, the much anticipated theatrical trailer and poster launch of the action-comedy film ‘Money Back Guarantee - MBG’ was held in Lahore. Written by actor and comedian Faisal Qureshi, it also marks Qureshi’s cinematic directorial debut, who also features in the film. Produced by Shayan Khan, it will be released worldwide on April 21st, 2023 and distributed by IMGC Global in Pakistan and by ZASHKO Films, internationally.
The Urdu-language film stars a plethora of entertainment bigwigs and celebrities including veteran star Javed Sheikh, superstar Fawad Khan, Hina Dilpazir, Ali Safina, Shayan Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Hajra Yamin, Ayesha Omar, Faisal Quraishi and Jan Rambo in the main cast. The film also features Kiran Malik, Aqdas Waseem, Mani, Shafaat Ali, Marhoom Ahmad Bilal, Adnan Jaffar, and Ataullah Khan in supporting and cameo roles.
Shot in Karachi and Thailand, MBG also sees the acting debuts of former captain of the national cricket team and cricket commentator/coach, Wasim Akram and his wife - social worker and activist - Shaniera Akram.
The trailer kicks off with abrupt snippets of each character, offering a cast you can get behind. It goes on to show a prison in a deserted area with a voiceover which sets the tone for the film. The trailer promises an entertaining experience and the aim to deliver a healthy dose of comedy to the world.
The theatrical trailer and poster launch was a star studded affair attended by many cast members, who were all dressed to impress, including Shayan Khan, Faisal Qureshi, Fawad Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ayesha Omar, Mirza Gohar Rasheed, Mani, Aqdas Waseem and Marhoom Ahmad Bilal.
Given the stellar cast and list of celebrities, there is no doubt that ‘Money Back Guarantee’ is the most-awaited film of 2023!
