Hi Ed,

I really enjoyed “Come rain or shine, I’ll survive”. It was the most refreshingly honest celebrity interview I have ever read. Personal experiences he shared made it an amusing read. Usually celebrity interviews are bland and superficial.

I found this truly inspirational: “We think that whatever our parents are saying is meaningless. We think we’ve everything sorted out, especially our life which is very different from what our parents had. But when we step out of the teenage years, we get to know the harsh realities. All our illusions are shattered. This applies to the ‘so-called friends’; we think everything will remain the same as it is then but as we grow up we realize that these are just temporary attachments and they end as soon as you part ways.”

Salam Ed,

I was impressed by Syed Hasan Bokhari’s organization Feed the World that distributes food in Rawalpindi and Islamabad among people with dignity and respect. Compassion should be an integral part of our life. Usually, we are too concerned about what other people are doing in the society; we think our charity will not make any difference but this isn’t true. Every little step counts! Hasan mentioned people participate enthusiastically during the holy month of Ramazan! I hope we continue to feed people all round the year.

I have heard of Jam Chakro, but I didn’t know people live around that landfill. I just googled Jam Chakro and the place looks like hell; obviously government dumps city’s solid waste here and burn it. Really appreciate what Eid in a Box is doing for the residents of Jam Chakro.

Reflection

Narrated by ‘Abdullah bin Umar (R.A)

Allah’s Apostle (SAW) said, “A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim, so he should not oppress him, nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfil his needs; whoever brought his (Muslim) brother out of a discomfort, Allah will bring him out of the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection.”
