I really like reading your ‘Etymology’ section. It is about the history of words, which might be boring for some people, but I personally find it enjoyable. The way he writes makes history interesting.

Salam Editor,

I really like reading your ‘Etymology’ section. It is about the history of words, which might be boring for some people, but I personally find it enjoyable. The way he  writes makes history interesting.

Another section that I read as soon as I get the copy is ‘Comic Relief’. The jokes are light-hearted and comic strips are funny and sometimes thought-provoking also.  I hope these sections will always be there in your magazine.

Hey Eddy,

I simply loved your last issue! It was great to see your feature on Asif Nawaz. As much as I liked reading what other Us stars had to say about him, I was more happy to read excerpts of his own writings. Rest was good, too. Keep up the good work!

Dear Editor,

This is my first letter to you. I have only recently started reading your esteemed magazine. The cover story on Asif Nawaz was pretty good. As a matter of fact, it made me google some of his articles and I must admit, the guy is a genius! I wish he would write more often.

Other than that, I was a bit disappointed with the Game Review. I like trying new games, but I also look to strong recommendations before trying one; Altamash’s review of Doom 2016, however, was not so convincing to say the least.

Hi Eddy,

I loved the new layout of TGR. It would be amazing if you guys improve the other sections of the mag as well.

Query

Respected Editor,

I am writing this to you as I am interested in contributing to Us magazine, but I have a few queries. Firstly, I would like to know if there are only certain topics on which the writers can submit their articles for the magazine, or it is up to the writer to decide which issue he or she might want to write about keeping in mind the audience (which I believe is people of age 16-22)? Secondly, are the contributors to Us magazine paid for their writings? If yes, how is the amount paid determined and what is the procedure for that?

Lastly, I would like to contribute articles regarding any sports star along with any analysis and/or report of any sporting event, as and when they happen. Will you be willing to publish that in your magazine?

Mohammad Shaaf Najib

I want to be a regular contributor to Us magazine. Please tell me all the details of how I can become one.

Zainab

Dear readers, Us is a magazine for youth. As such, you can write on any topic that might be of interest and/or beneficial to its audience. This includes sports-related write-ups. You should, however, refrain from including overtly political or religious debates. The word limit for one-page article is 550-650 words and payment is decided accordingly. The email id for articles and cover stories is us.mag@thenews.com.pk; you can send your poems to uspoetscorner@gmail.com

US MAILReflection

Narrated by Sad (R.A)

The Prophet (S.A.W) visited me at Mecca while I was ill. I said (to him), “I have property; May I bequeath all my property in Allah’s Cause?” He said, “No.” I said, “Half of it?” He said, “No.” I said, “One third of it?” He said, “One-third (is alright), yet it is still too much, for you’d better leave your inheritors wealthy than leave them poor, begging of others. Whatever you spend will be considered a Sadaqa for you, even the mouthful of food you put in the mouth of your wife. Anyhow Allah may let you recover, so that some people may benefit by you and others be harmed by you.”
