Hello Ed,

A writer’s strategy for success by Muhammad Omar Iftikhar in (8 March) last week’s issue was a useful, informative read. Omar’s tips were spot on because he is a published author. In ‘Bits and Pieces section’ I read that everyone’s favourite writer Hans Christian Andersen was probably autistic with surprise, but I must say it is not something we can believe just because he was very focused and diligent. Who knows what sort of problems he had? Sometimes life experiences also shape our personalities. Nevertheless, it was interesting information.

Hello Editor,

Summaya Phulpoto’s Rise of freelancers in Pakistan was brilliant. I think in this time when good jobs are not easy to get young people who lack work experience should broaden their horizon and try freelancing. My cousin works in an organization where he is paid Rs 40000 per month but he also freelances for a couple of companies side by side and makes good money. I think Us should continue to publish articles that can help the youth.

Points to ponder

Dear Ed,

I would like to draw the attention of my fellow young people on two issues that are harming us badly: unhealthy food and lack of exercise. Ed, in the month of Ramazan both these things escalate. We eat fatty food at iftari and think that just because it is Ramazan we should spend our time in bed, doing nothing to conserve our strength. I have realized that after sehri I can study really well, and by keeping myself active throughout the day I don’t feel hungry or lethargic. My request to everyone is not to make Ramazan an excuse for indolence.
