PRETTY WOMAN

How old were you, when you started doing your makeup?

I used to love makeup since I was a baby. I remember my mom used to apply blush to make my cheeks appear plump and rosy.

When stepping out, do you wear makeup all the time?

No, not at all! I try to skip makeup as much as I can. Applying moisturisers and icing your face is a must. I like to keep it minimal as in my profession, I have to bear layers and layers of makeup for hours so I like to let my skin breathe on casual days.

Do you use sunblock or any serums when you go to shoots?

Yes. Sun blocks and serums are a must if you are in this field, since the daily usage of makeup leaves dry patches on your skin.

PRETTY WOMAN

I use the L’Oreal hyaluronic serum and for sunblock you can either go for Hira Ali beauty or Derma.

Your quick tips for school and college going girls?

I would recommend not to use foundations on daily basis. A bit of concealer is fine to cover dark circles or opt for a light tinted moisturiser. I prefer Vida’s tint. I would suggest to skip makeup and let your skin breathe. Always keep a sunblock, moisturiser and a good perfume that suits your personality.

Your favourite perfume?

I prefer using Chanel and Gucci. Locally, I admire J. and Sapphire’s mist range.

What is your favourite lipstick brand?

Bobbi brown and Huda Beauty.

Do you use lighter or darker tones of foundation?

I prefer using the exact same shade of my skin tone.

PRETTY WOMAN

The face powder I use to set my makeup is one shade lighter, which gives a brightening effect.

How do you remove makeup and cleanse your skin?

I used to use makeup wipes until I got to know how harmful they are for our skin, as they suck out all the moisture out of the pores and leave the skin dry. So, I switched to using cleansing milk and balms to remove my makeup. Hydrating it properly after cleansing is a must!

Hair gets damaged after straightening and blow drying, how do you manage to keep them healthy?

I follow a strict hair care routine. Oiling your hair with the right mix of oils is a must and I also take hair protein treatments to keep my hair looking healthy and glossy.

PRETTY WOMAN

What is your go-to makeup look?

Concealer, blush, mascara - also a good lip tint and bushy brows is my all-time favourite look. And voilà I’m done.

Advice for women who can’t buy expensive brands but still want to look good?

Local brands like Rivaj Beauty and Beautify by Amna are amazing and relatively cost effective.

What is one cosmetic you cannot do without?

For me, a good lip and cheek tint is a must.

What’s in your beauty bag?

I keep all the essentials with me at all times. I don’t like to share my brushes and especially, beauty blender.

When applying makeup, what do you fear the most?

I can do my makeup even when I’m asleep so nothing scares me while doing my makeup (ha-ha).

Do you go to salons regularly for your facials?

Not regularly, I like to take a month’s gap at least.

PRETTY WOMAN

Too many skin treatments lead to open pores, which scares me the most.

Your go-to place for hair and makeup?

My go-to place is Sunuba Salon. Their senior artist knows my preferences well.

Your beauty rules?

I don’t follow any specific rules. But skincare is a must.

Where do you go for makeup shopping?

I order it all from abroad.

Do you use whitening cream?

Never! I strongly dislike whitening creams. I am content with the way I look.

What does the word beauty means to you?

Me (laughs cheekily).
