Earlier this year, actor, writer and director Shaan Shahid’s much awaited film, Zarrar’s first teaser came out. Written and directed by Shaan himself, the forthcoming film’s trailer came out on Pakistan Day (March 23).

Keeping the coronavirus pandemic in mind, the actor and director dropped Zarrar‘s trailer on Instagram and captioned it, “Let’s celebrate Pakistan Day and save this country in these stressful times. As responsible citizens, we bring you the trailer of the most entertaining, most anxiously awaited blockbuster of the year. Stay at home and celebrate with Zarrar!”

The almost three and a half minute trailer is packed with action and is quite intriguing. In the trailer we are introduced to the titular character Zarrar – essayed by Shaan – a member of a special group of ISI. By the looks of it, the film is about the dark future of Pakistan and how Zarrar is on a mission to “eliminate the threats to the country even before they happen”. He believes that “men die, wars don’t die” and we see him on a quest to “find peace”.

Shot in the streets of Istanbul, the story revolves around foreign powers conspiring to destabilize Pakistan. While we were introduced to veteran actor Nadeem Baig’s character, Major General Mujtaba in the teaser, in the trailer we see Kiran Malik as Zarrar’s love interest, who seems to get abducted by the enemy. Besides, Kiran, we see glimpses of Nayyar Ejaz, Rashid Naz and Shafqat Cheema.

The suspense thriller is Shaan’s sixth directorial project; the release date of the film has not been announced as yet.
