Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar aka KRQ, has a perpetual case of foot in the mouth. But during a recent appearance on a local channel, he crossed all boundaries, even cussing at his female opponent, Marvi Sirmed using terrible tone.

While he is known for delivering hits across television as film medium, this foot-in-mouth tone of his finally broke the camel’s back as celebrities admonished his crude language and sentiment.

Noted Mahira Khan on her Twitter handle, “I am shocked at what I have just heard and seen!! Sick to the core. This same man who abused a woman on TV is revered and given project after project because of what? We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking!”

Singer and actor Haroon Shahid also shared his views against KRQ and stated on Twitter, “Just saw the obnoxious incident between Khalil Saab and Marvi Sirmad. I see people writing “You can’t talk to a lady like that” and that’s where the problem lies. It’s not a matter of gender. You can’t talk to ANYONE like that! Not even an animal. Khalil Saab is a disgrace.”

He further reiterated, “#MeraJismMeriMarzi is being countered by #merizubanmerimarzi and that in a nutshell is where I believe both the statements are flawed. Boundaries are personal but if you make them public, you’ve got to respect the social norms. To understand social norms, travel travel travel!”

Prominent filmmaker Nabeel Qureshi wasn’t silent on the matter either.

He began by tweeting: “I hv not seen such a JAAHIL insan like #khalilurrehmanqamar who the hell he thinks he is? News channels invite him, so that he ends up uttering some nonsense and they can fetch some TRPs ! shame on TV channels & Khalil ! Disgraceful” and went on: “As great Jaun Elia Sahib Said ‘Bohut se logoun ko perhna chahyeah mager wo like rahe hain’ - This is for you #khalilurrehmanqamar”.

Osman Khalid Butt, producer Fizza Ali Meerza, Sanam Saeed and Shehzad Roy are some of the other celebrities who have spoken against his commentary.
