Osman Khalid Butt plays a key role in Saqib Malik’s recently released film Baaji that pays tribute to classic cinema and marks Meera Jee’s return to the big screen. The actor, writer and choreographer, who is gearing up for an upcoming mini-series that he is presently writing, shared in an interview with Instep how happy he feels to have worked with Meera, because he has always been a huge fan of her.
“I have been in awe of the presence that she brings; it is something that is to this date unparalleled,” he said, adding that she is on a different level. “Her work ethic is absolutely phenomenal; we were sometimes shooting for almost 20 hours at a stretch and this woman did not even complain once. In fact, she would be the one insisting for retakes so that she could do better.”
“Her humility and ability to treat her juniors as her peers is commendable; she is such a colourful personality,” he added. “It was a riot working with her.”
Baaji released on June 28 and is still running successfully in cinemas across Pakistan even in its third week, raking in a total of 20.3 million (till Wednesday).
