The Legend of Maula Jatt, the upcoming Bilal Lashari film starring Fawad Khan in the titular role as well as Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malick, Mahira Khan, Ali Azmat and many others has won in the court of law.
Producer Ammara Hikmat, taking to Twitter, shared a legal notice from the court that confirmed that there is no “stay order” on the film.
“Truth prevails,” wrote Hikmat, “Lahore High Court clarifies today that there is NO stay order on #TheLegendOfMaulaJatt release!!,” she wrote.
“The application was moved by us to put an end to the malicious propaganda spread by the opposing party.”
She further clarified on Twitter that the film’s release has been moved for different reasons.
“The film has been delayed for a strategic reason, not any legal issue. The new release date will be announced very soon. Till then, please don’t pay heed to any negative propaganda.”
Whatever those strategic reasons are, we don’t know yet but fans of Fawad-Mahira can, in the meantime, make do with the upcoming season of Pepsi Battle of the Bands where Khan is one of the judges.
On the other hand, Mahira Khan’s upcoming projects include a special appearance in Asim Raza’s Parey Hut Love and starring in director M. Ehteshamuddin’s Superstar across Bilal Ashraf.
