Hajra Khan, who has appeared in numerous TV plays, generally takes up unique roles and pulls them off with ease. She has played both positive and negative characters on the small screen and has strong screen presence. The actress is now gearing up for the release of her first feature film, Pinky Memsaab, written and directed by debutant Shazia Ali Khan, which she is busy promoting these days in Karachi.

“It was an amazing experience because Shazia was clear about the vision of the film, the acting and the entire process,” she told Instep at a recent press junket for the film. “I am playing the character of a woman working in Dubai,” she added. “You will see what her life is like, her struggles, her fights and her choices.”

Given that she has played strong characters on the small screen, most of which are villainous in nature, we asked if she will be seen in a similar role in the film.

“I am playing a strong, out of the box character, just like you have seen me on the small screen,” she responded.

Aside from Hajra Khan, Pinky Memsaab features Kiran Malik, Hajra Yamin, Adnan Jaffar and Sunny Hinduja in key roles and the story is based in Dubai. The film will release in Dubai on December 6 and in Pakistan on December 7.
