Mani blames his PR person for insensitive, misogynist post

Salman Sheikh, commonly known as Mani, recently caught our attention for all the wrong reasons. He posted an extremely insensitive post with a picture of Tarana Burke that said “She is Tarana Burke, the founder of Me Too movement. Don’t know who touched her and why?” Obviously he was trying to imply that a woman has to look a certain way to be perceived as attractive to be harassed by a man. It is something a lot of people believe in.

This naturally generated outrage from many who trashed and trolled Mani on this misogynist post. Mani probably realized his mistake upon seeing people’s harsh reactions. He deleted the post and in another post apologized for what had happened, blaming his PR person for the post.

“I would like to inform all my followers that I am not very much active on social media and was not aware that any such picture is posted on my Instagram,” he posted. “I would like to apologize on behalf of my PR guy who posted it by mistake. Please do help us improve in all aspects of life.”

Is it convincing? We don’t think so.
